Wollongong Wolves ACADEMY

Since 2016 we have run an Academy program from North Dalton Park, Fairy Meadow. The Academy has successfully seen in excess of 50 kids transition into our SAP (9’s to 12’s) and junior (13’s to 16’s) elite programs. The program has also provided the opportunity for coaches to gain experience.

Our Academy program's aim is as follows:-

  • to work in conjunction with local clubs and expand and improve the football offerings and pathways available to young footballers and coaches in the Illawarra and South Coast.

  • to provide the opportunity for specialised training for kids aged 7 to 15 years. That specialised training seeks to compliment the training that they have with their local clubs.

  • it is estimated that a local league player attends 40 to 50 training sessions per season. With an extra session per week over 40 weeks, the Academy program will increase the training of that player to 80 to 90 sessions per year. The improvement in the player is expected to be significant.

  • the opportunity for Wolves staff to work with local clubs to assist them develop players to perform at a higher standard and to improve the quality of football both individually and as a team at their club during the season.

  • the opportunity for local coaches to work with Wolves staff to assist, develop and enhance the coaching knowledge and expertise at club level within our region.

  • to provide an opportunity to, and develop players who have a desire to enter representative football via the Wolves elite National Premier League SAP and junior programs or elsewhere.

  • to provide experience and develop coaches to coach locally and / or enter the Wolves SAP and junior programs or elsewhere.

Our programs run during all school terms and cater for boys and girls in the u7's to u15's age groups.
