As a player, Jacob made his 1st grade debut for the Wolves in the NSL as a 16 year old.
He went on to play in the A-League with Sydney F.C. where he won the Inaugural A-League Grand Final in 2006.
During his playing career, Jacob captained Australia at all youth levels (U/17, U/20, U/23) and participated in the u/17 and u/20 Youth World Cups. In 2011 he returned home to play for the Wolves in the NPL before retiring due to injury in 2014. Throughout his playing days he started his coaching badges and was appointed Head Coach of the Wolves midway through the 2015 season. He continued in that role up until the 2018 season.
Jacob has also been Technical Director of the Wolves SAP since the club gained its licence for the 2016 season.
Jacob: “The SAP program has been great for the club. It now gives the kids a pathway from under 9s through to first grade. We are coming into our fourth season and we are seeing the benefits with over 60% of our SAP players progressing from our 12’s into the 13’s each year so far.
The program is great as it’s a step up from club football and introduces kids to elite pathways and an enhanced club environment. I am fortunate to have played at a high level and know what it takes to make it. I will be passing on all my knowledge and experiences to the clubs young stars.
I also believe we have a coaching line up that would be amongst the best going around and our future stars are fortunate to be in these guys hands. I am looking forward to the season ahead”
